Payment Policies

  • Payment is pre-paid for the full month by the 1st.

  • Monthly tuition amount is the same each month regardless of the number of weeks in the month. This means that sometimes there are five weeks, sometimes three due to holidays.

  • Monthly tuition is only pro-rated in the first month of lessons. Tuition is not pro-rated at any other time of the year.

  • We accept credit/debit card and Apple Pay.

Schedule Changes

  • Cancellation requests notices must be received 24 hours before the time of the lesson should the parent or student wish to cancel or reschedule the lesson. Lesson cancellation requests received after 7pm the day before the lesson may be forfeited.

  • If a student gets sick the day of a lesson, we reserve the right to offer to reschedule if the teachers’ schedules allow. We ask that we receive notice by 8 am to avoid forfeiture of the lesson. Notice received after 8am may result in forfeiture of the lesson.

  • Should a teacher need to cancel a lesson the same day due to illness or other reason, a substitute teacher will be scheduled. If a substitute teacher cannot be scheduled in time, student will gain a makeup lesson.

  • Occasionally a substitute teacher will be scheduled in place of the student's regular teacher. This is to ensure consistency for the student and to allow teachers to have time off.

  • All scheduling communications should be made between 7am – 7pm. Please email anytime for general scheduling changes, however the normal 7pm time cut-off will still apply for 24 hour cancellations. Lessons can be cancelled through the lesson portal, or by contacting staff via email or phone. Please email scheduling@pianoteachergirl.com or text/call (323) 991-6747

  • Teachers do not handle any scheduling. All scheduling changes must go through your Lesson Portal or through Piano Teacher Girl.

Makeups

  • Makeup lessons must be rescheduled within 60 days from the day a lesson is cancelled. After 60 days, makeup lessons will expire.

  • Lesson rescheduling is based on teacher availability. While we will do our best to accommodate rescheduling in person lessons, due to teacher's schedules and their other professional commitments, in person makeups are not guaranteed with the same teacher.

  • Makeup lessons can be scheduled as a series of extended lessons at the student's regular day and time.

  • Makeup lessons can be scheduled as Zoom or video lessons recorded by the teacher.

  • Makeup lessons cannot be applied to cover regularly billed lessons.

  • Should a teacher need to cancel a lesson, a makeup lesson will be added to a students account that won't expire.

Breaks and Discontinuing Lessons

  • If a student would like to take a temporary break from lessons a written notice THREE WEEKS prior to the next billing date must be sent to hello@pianoteachergirl.com.

  • Monthly payments are not prorated so a hold must be placed for a calendar month.

  • Temporary breaks from lesson subscriptions for one month may result in a student losing their spot in their teacher’s schedule. A new spot will need to be coordinated on a different day and time and possibly with a different teacher upon resuming. To keep your same spot with your teacher, you can:

    1. Pay 50% of the monthly tuition.

    2. Pay the full amount and make up the missed lessons anytime in the next 12 months.

  • If a student would like to discontinue lessons, a written notice THREE WEEKS prior to the next billing date must be sent to hello@pianoteachergirl.com.

  • Piano Teacher Girl will not provide partial or full refunds of any monthly tuition payment once it is received. Unused lessons can be gifted to friends and family.
